Doctor Joyce Dr. Joyce Morley-Ball was born the youngest of fourteen children and is the mother of three daughters. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree (B.S.) in Elementary Education/Psychology from SUNY Geneseo; a Master of Science degree (MS) in Counseling from SUNY Brockport, Specialist degrees (Ed.S.) in Counseling and Education Administration from SUNY Brockport, and a Doctorate degree (EdD) in Counseling, Family and Worklife (CFW) from the University of Rochester. She is recognized as a National Certified Counselor and National Certified School Counselor by the American Counseling Association (ACA), a Clinical Member and Approved Supervisor by the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT), and a Certified Criminal Justice Specialist by the National Association of Forensic Counselors (NAFC). Dr. Morley-Ball has served as an educator in the public school system and as a professor at the post secondary level for more than twenty-five years. She engages in motivational speaking, training, and executive coaching at the national, state and local levels, and she serves as a licensed psychotherapist in private practice. She spoke at Madison Square Garden as well as other major venues. Dr. Morley-Ball does consulting for businesses, organizations, and educational institutions, including The Center for Creative Leadership (CCL), The U. S. Dept. of Education, The Georgia Department of Juvenile Justice, The Jenkins County Family Enrichment Commission, and other organizations. She served as president of the Atlanta Branch of the American Association of University Women (AAUW) and the Jeannette Rankin Foundation in Athens, Georgia. Dr. Morley-Ball serves on several Boards of Directors, including the Porsche Foxx Community Fund (PFCF). She has been recognized by Who’s Who In Medicine and Healthcare, Who’s Who Among Human Service Professionals, And the World’s Who’s Who Among Women. She was selected to serve as an International Delegate for the World Mental Health Organization. Dr. Morley-Ball appeared on CNN Talk Back Live, CNN Families At The Dinner Table, provided consultation with CNN on Children of Divorce, appeared on Community Television Open Window, appeared in a video for Holistic Institute on Teen Stress: How to Cope; and she appeared on Good Day Atlanta with Georgia Women On Line for Change. She has also served as an expert guest on Atlanta radio stations WAOK, WGUN, WZGC, Mississippi radio station WACR, as well as stations in Hawaii, NYC, Oklahoma, Florida, North Carolina, Baltimore, Rev. Jessie Jackson’s TV & radio talk shows, and as a regular expert guest on WVEE-V103's Porsche Foxx’s Issues Monday and Taboo Tuesday shows. Dr. Morley-Ball serves as an expert guest on WXIA TV 11–Alive and she is recognized as a relationship expert, affectionately called “Dr. Joyce—the Love Doctor”. She is a talk show host, author, poet, and columnist, where she served as an expert consultant to Ebony Magazine, contributing to the article “Five Men and Five Women to Avoid”, Essence.com, Atlanta Woman Magazine, Black Enterprise Magazine, the Rome News-Tribune, Atlanta Good Life Magazine, as well as other magazines and newspapers. She is Relationship Editor and she authors quarterly columns for Family Digest Magazine, entitled, “Marriage Makeovers”, and “Relationship Treatments.” Her book of poetry is entitled Weary But Not Worn: A Spiritual Reawakening, and her recently published book is entitled Seeds for the Harvest of A Lifetime: increasing Self-Awareness, Self-Esteem, and Improving Relationships. Dr. Morley-Ball hosted a live, weekly, radio call-in talk show on WGUN, titled the “Dr. Joyce Show” from 1997-2000. She also co-hosted the weekly “Love and Relationships” show on WVEE- V-103-FM, in Atlanta for three years.
